Holtwood PA-Muddy Run Reservoir and Campground
just a short drive over the Susquehanna from the CKC delta dock. this 700-acre park is owned and operated by the Excelon Corp.
Behind their boat launch, there is a CKC trailer with 6 kayaks. they have both an EZDock launch and beach launch.
They rent kayaks, canoes and electric boats, and campsites: RV and Tent. amenities: snack bar, general camp store and bait/tackle, laundromat, Ryan observatory, a disc golf course and free wifI

The Muddy Run Campground is owned and operated by the Excelon Corp. The campground and reservoir is located in Holtwood, PA in Lancaster County.
To paddle the reservoir from the Muddy Run Boat launch, CKC members are required to complete a waiver once a season. A $5 vessel launch fee for non-campers is normally charged, but CKC pays a flat launch fee for all CKC kayak launches for the season. They offer both an EZDock launch and beach launch.
The Muddy Run Boat Launch also offers kayak, canoe and electric boat rentals. Boat launch hours vary throughout the season. Early in the season In May, the boat launch is open on weekends only. otherwise:
Summer: Open daily 9A-5P, Memorial Day to Labor Day.
If in doubt, call 717-284-5869. No swimming is allowed in the reservoir. The park closes at sunset to all non-campers. Consider staying overnight!

The Muddy Run Campground offers many onsite amenities, including a snack bar, general camp store and some unique additions such as:
Free parking for all patrons. When the boat launch is closed, the main gate may stop you and ask for proof of payment for the boat launch fee. Just explain that CKC has paid a seasonal launch fee.
