From the center of the vibrant Baltimore Peninsula, this location gives easy access to the Middle River, part of the Southern branch of the Patapsco River. Eastern Watersports is onsite, where kayak rentals are available for non-members. There are steps down from the rack to the water. The paddling area is usually calm, with much lower boat traffic than Baltimore Harbor, with the exception of the Maryland Cruise Terminal to the left between our launch and Ft. McHenry

To the right, you can paddle to Ferry Bar Park (sandy beach with fishermen), Nick’s Fish House, under the Hanover St. Bridge, or pull up at the public kayak launch at Middle River Park OR paddle due South to the left of the MedStar Harbor Hospital and up the narrow and shallow Patapsco River past Reedberg Island and SouthEast Area Park. From the mouth of the Patapsco river at the S. Hanover St. bridge, you can head to the left to reach Masonville Cove Environmental Center.

If the restaurants are open and you are not planning to dine nearby, please park in a neighboring parking lot OR on Cromwell Street.
