Rescue Training (Fee required)
Canton Kayak Club works with KayakingMadeEZ to provide several rescue training classes each season during the warmest water months of July, August and September, and this season will be held at our Delta, PA location on Sunday afternoons from 2:30P-5:30P.
These sessions are available to the general public. If interested, a fee of $60 can be sent by Paypal to cantonkayak@gmail.com OR via a Square invoice (by request to info@cantonkayakclub.com) OR mailed to the contact address on the CKC website.
In this class, attendees learn and practice new skills such as:
- Wet exit (exiting from an overturned kayak)
- Partner Rescue
- Self-Rescue
- Emptying a kayak when it takes on water.
This course greatly increases a paddler’s confidence on the water, and we highly recommend it.
If less than four sign up, CKC may cancel the session and reschedule it or refund the funds paid.
Completion of rescue training allows CKC members to apply to become CKC Dock Captains or Paddle Leaders.
