Rescue Training (Fee required)
Canton Kayak Club works with KayakingMadeEZ to provide several rescue training classes each season during the warmest water months of July and August, and this season will be held at our Delta, PA location on Saturday afternoons from 1P-4P and Essex Island View location on a weekday from 5:50P-8:30P.
For most members an additional fee of $60 can be sent by Paypal to cantonkayak@gmail.com OR via a Square invoice (by request) OR mailed to the contact address on the CKC website. These sessions are available to members who have completed the orientation training.
In this class, members learn and practice new skills such as:
- Wet exit (exiting from an overturned kayak)
- Partner Rescue
- Self-Rescue
- Emptying a kayak when it takes on water.
This course greatly increases a paddler’s confidence on the water, and we highly recommend it.
Sessions are announced as the classes are scheduled during mid-July to mid-August of the season.
Completion of rescue training allows members to apply to become CKC Dock Captains or Paddle Leaders.
