Come join CKC members for a guided kayak tour of Chesapeake Bay Environment Center (CBEC) on Sat. Oct. 14 starting at 9:30A and on the water from 10A-12 noon!
CBEC is a 510 acre wildlife preserve in Grasonville, MD, just across the Bay Bridge, that will open your eyes, ears, mind, and heart to the wildlife and historic landscapes that characterize Maryland’s Eastern Shore. Pause for a moment in a secluded bird blind, or explore native woodlands, marshes and meadows, along 4 miles of walking trails. Search for the over 200 species of birds regularly seen at CBEC. Return again and again to discover the rich, ever-changing world of the Chesapeake Bay’s tidal marshes throughout the seasons. Visitor Center, gift shop, indoor and outdoor restrooms, and picnic facilities available. Hours 9A-4P Mon-Sun.
CBEC offers 22 single kayaks, 14 tandem kayaks, and 6 paddleboards for rental. Kayaks and paddleboards are available for rental daily, starting at 9 am. No rentals may go out after 3 pm, and all paddlers must be checked back in at the Visitor Center by 4:45 pm. Because there is not a specific time limit to our daily rentals, occasionally vessels may not be available at the specific time requested by renters, UNLESS you register for the scheduled regular tour below.
COSTS: The Bay Bridge toll is $2.50 with a MD EzPass or $4 with a non-MD EzPass.
CBEC Regular tours cost only $20 for CBEC non-members or free with CBEC annual membership.

CANCELLATION by CBEC is possible if there is a NWS Small Craft Advisory or Thunderstorm warning issued.
